The sixth season of The X-Files kind of ignores the movie as it makes the move to sunny, sunny California, in “The Beginning”. Vince Gilligan gives us a taut thriller with “Drive”.

-Don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but the permalink to the movie episode is all messed up, and it seems impossible to comment there without an advanced degree in WordPress-fu. Whether or not you are able to fix that, please just delete my entire comment as it adds nothing of substance. I merely want to take this opportunity to say thank you for your podcasts, and really appreciate your perspective. I could not stand to actually have to sit down and watch this show, or any show, at this point in my life, so I’m glad that you do that instead. I’m not wealthy enough to donate to you either, so that’s that. Just another satisfied but very cheap customer.
I only watched Fight The Future on TV when I think I had fever or something, and did not remember much about it except for the bomb explosion, the bee swarm, a slight disorientation left by the cinematic widescreen treatment after having been accustomed to the TV-land 4:3 ratio for so long, and a lingering sense of underwhelmation (is that a word?). It was good to hear about it from you. Richard mentions a Darin Morgan version where Mulder & Scully have a movie made about their adventures, and man would I have loved to see that. Especially given that I secretly harbor the theory that Star Trek is an idealized propaganda series which Starfleet puts out to make itself look good, which is why the consoles on the bridge tend to implausibly explode etc.

-Thanks for the heads-up–something went wrong with a plugin. Permalinks should be fixed!
We greatly appreciate your kind words about the podcasts!
